Japan Airlines 30% Transfer Bonus
Right now, Capital One is running a 30% transfer bonus to Japan Airlines (JAL) through September 30.
That’s the 4th time we have seen a bonus like this within the past 12 months.
Three things to keep in mind and some sweet spot redemptions with this Japanese airline:
1️⃣ Create Your Account ASAP
The Japan Airlines website typically requires having an account open for 60 days before you can redeem award flights.
The requirement is lowered to only 7 days when you transfer credit card points.
Create an account this week to kickstart the process.
2️⃣ Capital One's Transfer Ratio
Bilt and Rove transfer to JAL at a 1,000 : 1,000 ratio, but Capital One transfers at a 1,000 : 750 ratio.
However, the current 30% transfer bonus improves this to 1,000 : 975.
Using Bilt or Rove could save you some points and miles in the long run...
BUT Capital One miles can be easier to earn, especially with a record high 75,000 miles + $300 offer.
3️⃣ Sweet Spots
Book Emirates business class for 60,000 miles (or 62,000 C1 Miles) and less taxes and fees than what other airlines are charging (including Emirates itself):
Fly between the US and Japan for only 55,000 miles in business class (or 57,000 C1 Miles) and about $350 in taxes and fees:
