Unique Flying Blue Transfer Bonus

4 new transfer bonuses just dropped:

  • Rove 50% to Turkish Airlines

  • Citi 30% to Qatar Airways

  • Amex 20% to Marriott

  • Amex 25% to Flying Blue (Air France & KLM)

We have a super unique example today using the 25% transfer bonus to Flying Blue.

Daniel here - I just got back from Banff National Park with my wife Jackie.

We were honestly blown away by the views, hiking trails, and weather up there - and it was actually my first time in Canada too!

Jackie and I ran into some flight delays on our way home and we almost had to book some last minute flights using credit card points to avoid a cancelled flight.

During this time, I found out the Canadian airline WestJet has a bunch of routes between Calgary and many US cities (Calgary's airport is used to get to Banff).

Cities include Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Denver, Houston, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Nashville, Atlanta, Tampa, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Washington DC, New York City, and Boston.

WestJet partners with several SkyTeam allianceairlines - meaning that you can book award flights for certain WestJet flights with Delta, Virgin Atlantic, and Flying Blue (Air France & KLM).

Here’s how you can pull off this trip with points and miles…

First, we do a search on WestJet to get an idea of flight times, prices, and the airport of choice.

We found some flights from Phoenix to Calgary that could work.

Next, we run the same search on Flying Blue’s website:

Here’s a $220 flight for only 12,500 miles + $22 in taxes and fees:

With Flying Blue's current 25% transfer bonus, we would only have to transfer 10,000 Amex MR Points.

($220 - $22) / 10,000 points = 1.98 CPP

And here’s a $255 flight from Houston to Calgary for only 15,500 miles+ $22 in taxes and fees:

With Flying Blue's current 25% transfer bonus, we would only have to transfer 13,000 Amex MR Points.

($255 - $22) / 13,000 miles = 1.79 CPP

Solid value if you also wanna visit Banff anytime soon!
