A New Way To Transfer Hyatt Points

Hyatt now allows members to transfer points between different accounts.

The process was very outdated before and fell behind how competing programs handled point transfers.

Transferring - or gifting as Hyatt calls it - can be completed digitally in a few easy steps right inside your Hyatt account.

To find the page, go to: Login → Profile (top right) → Account (under Membership) → Purchase & Gift Points

You can also access the page using this link and clicking “Gift Your Points” halfway down on the site.

From there, the only information required is the other person’s:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email address

  • World of Hyatt number

  • Number of points you want to transfer

Just make sure all of the information matches their Hyatt profile exactly. Both member accounts must also be open and active for 60 days.

Members get one transfer per month and six transfers per calendar year.

People with Hyatt accounts are allowed to send 525,000 points per year and receive 525,000 points per year.

There is no charge to transfer points and the ratio is an even 1:1.

Transferring Hyatt points could make sense for individuals traveling together with separate accounts, optimizing a redemption around someone with elite status, or a nice holiday gift to give someone if you’re flush with points.

Despite the timing and points caps, the updated Hyatt transfer process is refreshing to see after many devaluations this year!
