Chase & IHG 100% Transfer Bonus
Chase is running a 100% transfer bonus to IHG through July 30.
We normally stay away from this type of transfer, but 100% is the highest bonus ever offered to the diverse IHG hotel program.
Finding value for a budget friendly property like a Holiday Inn can be hard - but you can stretch points further for upscale properties or unique destinations.
Take the Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa in the Cayman Islands as a perfect example:
Three nights during fall will run you $874 a night (see photo above) - but the same property is bookable for 70,000 IHG points per night (see photo below):
Slow your roll before you say 70,000 points is a lot to pay, because we agree - it is.
But the 100% transfer bonus cuts the points requirement in HALF, meaning only 35,000 points are needed per night for this example.
35,000 points X 3 nights = 105,000 points total
Every credit card blogger and newsletter out there has been talking about this 100,000 Point Limited-Time Offer (us included)...
So if you qualify for that offer and you meet the $5,000 spend requirement in 3 months to receive those 100,000 points, then you'd have enough to book this!
The hotel cost for 3 nights would be $2,621:
But the better option here would be to redeem 105,000 points (transferred into 210,000 IHG Points with the 100% transfer bonus) and pay a $285 amenity fee:
($2,621 - $285) / 105,000 points = 2.22 CPP
REALLY great value here for a hotel program frequently offering redemptions of only around 0.5 CPP (or less).
Wallet Wisdom: if you hold an eligible IHG co-branded credit card, then you could get a 4th night free as well!
