Chase Sapphire Reserve® Update?
As reported by several websites, Chase is potentially updating it's $500 credit for The Edit on the Chase Sapphire Reserve®.
The Edit is Chase's premium hotel program within Chase Travel - and Sapphire Reserve cardholders are currently able to get up to $250 back twice per year on stays with a 2-night-minimum booked at The Edit properties.
What some people have done to use both of these $250 credits at the same time is they have booked back-to-back 2-night stays at the same property - effectively giving them the full $500 in value.
Unfortunately though, this workaround might soon be going away.
That's because Chase recently published an article on August 10 that explains The Edit and how to maximize your benefits.
In that article, the following wording was used:
"Back-to-back stays at the same property within 24 hours of the previous checkout are considered a single stay. Only the first stay is eligible for The Edit program benefits."
This would be a pretty notable devaluation for this The Edit credit if true.
However...
At the time of writing this on the morning of August 18, we can report that this Chase article appears to have been edited to remove that restrictive wording about back-to-back stays.
This wording about back-to-back stays is also not found in the terms to the Sapphire Reserve.
So could this have been a mistake that was published and later corrected in this Chase article?
Or is there actually a devaluation coming to the way that these $500 of credits for The Edit can be used?
