Chase Updating Monthly DoorDash Credits?
The Chase Sapphire Reserve® is rumored to be updating its DoorDash credits to deliver even more value for cardholders.
Currently, Chase offers a complimentary $120 DashPass membership along with $25 of monthly use-it-or-lose-it credits:
$10 nonrestaurant credit
$10 nonrestaurant credit
$5 restaurant credit
The $10 credits work at gas stations, grocery stores, and retail locations - and the $5 credit serves restaurants only.
But now, rumors are saying the $5 credit will soon be worth $15 and can be used at nonrestaurant locations starting October 1, 2026.
It's always great to see a monthly credit increase that becomes more flexible!
We never value delivery app credits at 100% face value because you still need to pay tax, a service fee, and tip on most orders.
A quick example for a made-up purchase with a credit from the Chase Sapphire Preferred®:
Adjust the credit amount to $15 in this hypothetical order, include a $4 tip, and the accurate order total is $9.90.
So we’re still paying roughly $10 out-of-pocket for $16 worth of items after using a $15 credit.
DoorDash also implemented a $20 minimum order pickup a few months ago, which made the monthly credits harder to maximize.
Our advice is to buy repeatable purchases you make every month like essentials or groceries - then use the credits to help offset the costs.
Overall, a $15 credit would be MUCH better than the previous $5 credit offered for the Doordash partnership!
