Amex has a 25% transfer bonus to Flying Blue that expires in a few days on October 31
Amex is throwing us a great pass with this one!
That's because Flying Blue recently devalued its award chart - so a 25% transfer bonus basically gives us the old pricing rates for flights all over Europe.
Take this flight from Houston to Rome in February:
You’ll then see three different prices when you click underneath each fare class. Here’s what each means and how you can decide the optimal choice:
Business Light: Book for the cheapest rate and if you are very firm with travel plans. Non-refundable ticket and no lounge access!
Business Standard: Book for slightly more points, a fully refundable fare (cancel and change fee still apply), and for access to an airport lounge before your flight.
Business Flex: Avoid this in 95% of scenarios. The taxes and fees are lower, but the points price is harder to justify. Only if you have millions of points, maybe!
The same information is generally true for economy and premium economy bookings, minus the lounge access.
A 25% transfer bonus means business light is bookable for 48,000 points and business standard for 60,000 points.
