New & Refreshed IHG Cards
Chase announced a brand-new IHG credit card this week, along with three cards getting a refresh:
NEW: IHG One Rewards Premier Select Credit Card ($350 Annual Fee)
IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card ($150 Annual Fee)
IHG One Rewards Credit Card (No Annual Fee)
IHG One Rewards Business Credit Card ($200 Annual Fee)
The biggest change is the 4th night free benefit on the IHG One Rewards Credit Card (previously, IHG One Rewards Traveler Card) now requires $5,000 of purchases to activate.
This benefit allows cardholders redeem points to book a consecutive 4-night stay with IHG and get the 4th night free.
Each of the other three cards mentioned have the 4th night free benefit included without a spending requirement.
Chase launched offers for both of the new cards, including 180,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening on the IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card.
Let’s roll with that signup bonus for a quick second…
Four nights at Holiday Inn Resort Grand Cayman would cost around $2,224 - but this can also be booked only 25,000 points per night:
4.6 Stars on Google btw, not bad for Holiday Inn!
With a 4th night free benefit, we’re looking at only 75,000 points total!
$2,224 / 75,000 points = 2.97 CPP
How about a hotel within the US?
The Hotel Indigo in Los Angeles has cash rates of $1,452 to stay four nights...
OR you could book for 50,000 points per night (150,000 points total) at right around 1 CPP:
In both examples, you would still have points left over after earning a signup bonus of 180,000 points.
