Possible Changes For Citi Strata Cards?
Two possible changes could be ahead for Citi Strata credit cards.
Citi sent out surveys to select cardholders about possible Citi Strata Premier changes, and those proposed things included:
$195 annual fee
$100 splurge credit
A hotel and dining credit
Revamped earning multipliers
Many of the current 3x multipliers will change if Version Y of this card goes live.
Dining, grocery, and gas would lower from 3x back down to 2x back.
Flights booked through Citi Travel and restaurant Citi Nights (Friday and Saturday 6pm - 6am) would be 4x back.
Sending a survey does not guarantee card changes in the future, so hopefully Citi does not go through with this proposal and gets appropriate feedback.
The Citi Strata Premier is worth adding in its current version - so decreasing spending multipliers and adding more credits would make this card more complicated than necessary.
The Citi Strata Elite, big brother to the Citi Strata Premier, is almost guaranteed to have new changes in 2027…
Uber acquired Blacklane, a global chauffeur service that's commonly used for scheduled business traveler pickups at airports.
The Citi Strata Elite includes a $200 Blacklane credit every year that is split into two $100 semiannual credits.
According to the announcement yesterday, Uber plans to integrate Blacklane into the chauffeur sector of their business called Uber Elite.
The deal is expected to close by the end of 2026.
Will Blacklane continue to operate under its own brand?
Could the $200 Blacklane credit become an Uber credit?
These are questions that will have answers later this year once the deal is approved.
