Alaska Airlines Sweet Spot - Asia Flight

Alaska Airlines and Philippine Airlines have a unique partnership where we can book some pretty AWESOME deals between the US, the Philippines, and the rest of Southeast Asia.

Seattle (SEA), San Francisco (SFO), and Honolulu (HNL) to Manila (MNL) prices start at 37,500 points in economy and only 75,000 points in business class.

Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK), and Chicago (ORD) to Manila (MNL) start at 42,500 points in economy and 85,000 points in business class.

Here’s some sample dates from New York to Manila, Philippines in early 2027:

The Philippines doesn't have to be your final destination, but a flight here opens the door to Southeast Asia and places like Thailand, Bali, Hong Kong, Singapore, and South Korea.

Say we roll with one of those New York City to Manila flights for 85,000 points - you could then catch a flight to Bangkok, Thailand for as low as 7,500 points:

You’d be paying 92,500 points total and only $64 in taxes and fees for those two flights, which would be worth $3,195 if paid in cash…

($3,195 - $64) / 92,500 points = 3.38 CPP

  • Wiser Wallet Tip: when you are searching with Alaska, click “details” to see the plane type on Philippine Airlines. Aim to book the A350 business class as the seats are much better than the other plane types.

Co-branded Alaska credit cards earn Atmos points, but you can also transfer from Bilt Points to Atmos at 1:1 ratio.

A welcome bonus from the Bilt Palladium Card (one of our favorites) earns 50,000 Bilt points which gets you over halfway there to pulling off this type of redemption.

We're happy this new partnership allows points bookings now - but availability with Alaska could get much harder to find once Philippine Airlines joins Oneworld Alliance in 2027.

Remember, when you find a good deal, book it ASAP! Then ask your boss for PTO later!
