Amex Adds ChatGPT Credits
American Express added $300 of ChatGPT credits to the The Business Platinum Card® from American Express and the American Express® Business Gold Card.
Users must first enroll in the credit and then sign up for a ChatGPT Business account to qualify for the credit. A personal ChatGPT account will not trigger the credit.
Here’s the kicker though - ChatGPT Business requires a minimum of two users.
There’s a choice of paying $20 per month per user when billed annually OR $25 per month per user when billed monthly.
That’s a little frustrating, but here’s how you could maximize the credit:
Sign up for ChatGPT Business in July and opt for the monthly plan.
The $300 credit is an annual one - starting in July will get you six $50 credits for the remainder of 2026 and then six $50 credits for the first six months in 2027.
Basically a 1-year trial run with the product!
Keep in mind applicable state taxes for where you live (may not be exactly $50 each month).
Another option is you could pay for the ChatGPT Business annual plan in full at $480, then subtract out the $300 credit.
You pay around $180 plus tax for two users and 12 months of access - works out to be about $7.50/month per user.
Regardless of which option you go with, the $300 ChatGPT credit could help lower your effective annual fee on both Amex cards.
