Capital One Introduces 2 New Cards
Capital One is replacing their One Spark Miles and Spark Select cards with 2 new cards - the Capital One Venture Business and the Capital One VentureOne Business.
The Venture Business is the one we’re focusing on because its got a juicy signup bonus worth up to 150,000 Miles.
Earn up to 75,000 miles once you spend $7,500 in the first 3 months, and an additional 75,000 miles once you spend $30,000 in the first 6 months.
Earning rates on this card are:
5X miles on hotels, vacation rentals, and rental cars booked through Capital One Business Travel
2X miles on every purchase for your business
The downside to this card?
Its $95 annual fee is not waived in the first year like the Spark Miles card.
BUT the Venture Business does comes with two annual credits:
$50 annual travel credit for bookings through Capital One Business Travel
Up to $50 annual statement credit for purchases at qualifying advertising or software merchants
Throw in a $120 credit for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck® every four years and it’s very easy to get value from this card - especially in year one.
Also, as reported by Doctor of Credit and confirmed by a Capital One spokesperson, the Venture Business card will not report to personal credit bureaus:
That’s a big win for business owners who want to keep their personal and business expenses separate - and for those who are trying to manage certain issuer application rules on the personal side of things.
A friendly reminder that you don’t need a massive business to apply for business cards - side hustles and gigs like pet sitting, rideshare driving, and freelance work can all qualify.
We’ve added the Venture Business to our list of Best Business Cards.
