NEW Custom Cash Strategy
If you’re like us, then you were pretty upset to see the Citi Custom Cash discontinued last week.
Maybe you didn’t get the chance to apply for the Custom Cash by the time we broke the unfortunate news on Friday.
HOWEVER, there may be a backdoor strategy to still get this card. 🤐
Data points started rolling in over the weekend about Citi cardholders successfully product changing from certain existing Citi cards to the Citi Custom Cash.
Luckily for you, this can be done for free through Citi’s online chatbot - and someone inside our private community was actually able to take advantage of this option over the weekend.

What’s really cool about a product change like this:
No hard credit pull
Same account number
Citi TY Points are retained
Existing account history is also retained
New card arrives in 10-14 business days
Another reddit user also talked to the Citi chatbot, mentioned “Card Upgrade” and then was connected to a representative.
They asked the representative, “I'm wondering if I have any options to product change this card?”
If you're allowed to product change, then a list of eligible cards will be shown - and the Citi Custom Cash can be selected if it's on that list.
If you missed out on applying for the Custom Cash before applications closed, then a product change may be your LAST option.
We don’t know if Citi will shut down this ability, and product changes are also targeted per cardholder - so please let us know if you’re successful by replying to this email!
